The Path to Vengeance

A Rogue's Deal

Strange occurrences often haunt alien worlds, and the trio find that X-13 is no different. Jonathan, Lucius, and Vinn were plagued by sounds from the darkness of the surrounding forest. While on watch, Vinn spotted a group of onlookers, but decided not to pursue them.

Upon the breaking dawn, the group was quickly surrounded by Eldar mercenaries who were under the employ of another Rogue Trader known as Braskon. The leader of the Eldar group, Scrivven, took the group to Braskon’s ship, where they were put under medical attention (wherein Vinn received mechanical lungs) in return for their services in an upcoming event.

The three were instructed by Braskon to infiltrate a small camp run by the Blue Suns, who have set up small base camps on X-13. The goal was to steal any information found by the Blue Suns and send it up to Braskon.

This was easier said than done.

Despite their stealth tactics, the group was found out, and were fired upon. However, a distraction by Jonathan bought them enough time to steal the info, and head out into the surrounding wood.

Yet, they were still far from safe. Jonathan Barsuum stumbled upon a xenos breeding ground, and stirred the beasts to rising. The sheer numbers of the creatures were enough to drive any men mad, and Jon was no different. The shock caused him to stumble off a cliff, but not before firing two shots into the horde.

Now, the forest being swallowed by the xenos chasing them, the group headed back towards the Blue Suns’ camp. The mercenaries were quickly assaulted by xenos, and quickly followed Jon’s hastily constructed orders. Before the Blue Suns had a chance to capture the group, an Eldar transport ship picked them up and brought them back to Braskon, who busy planning another assault.

Using the information the trio and the other Eldar groups had gathered, Braskon came to the conclusion that the precious recourses they were in search for were deep within the planet, and to get to them, the Blue Suns would have to be terminated. However, he hastily dispatched the idea given to him by Luscius and Jonathan to call for reinforcements.

The previous battle had left both Lucius and Jonathan rather beaten, and the two headed for the medical bay. Scrivven was quick to meet up with Vinn, and instructed him to meet him in one of the engine rooms at midnight ship time.

The meeting had a certain air about it that made Vinn uncomfortable, yet he went anyway. Scrivven asked Vinn if he would help them overthrow Braskon, so the Eldar could use the resources to power the Eldar’s ships and they could head home. Being a servant of the God-Emperor, Vinn did not feel compelled to answer such a weighty request, and thought it a best to relay the question to Johnathan.

The trio now sit upon a ship poised for mutiny, not yet sure which side to stand on. Braskon had yet to do anything to oppose them, and in fact helped the three out in numerous ways. Yet, the Eldar promised them ships to head back to Terra, and, as Scrivven himself said, “We just want to go home.” A sentiment very much shared.

Finding of X-13

Word has reached the Barsuum family of a planet rich in resources. Thinking this is a perfect way to test his skills, Johnathan Barsuum collects a rag-tag crew to explore the far-away planet, known only as X-13. Along with the Blue Suns, a local mercenary gang, Jonathan hires a Seneschal named Luscius and a Missionary known cryptically as Vinn.

After investigating a strange cave under the surface of X-13, the group comes across ancient armor, and further investigation proves it to be of past space marines. Clearly this was not the first time this planet had been visited by Man. An uncovered video log shows a group of marines slowly meet a rather fatal end due to the xenos that inhabit the planet.

And they have not all died off.

After a skirmish with the xenos, Vinn is at death’s door, and is taken to the medical bay. The next day, Jonathan is awakened by a request to meet with Wasker, the leader of the Blue Suns. A heated discussion reveals that he had been hired by the Garruson family to kill Jonathan Barsuum. Thinking quickly, Johnathan locks Wasker within his quarters and drains it of oxygen, suffocating the double-crossing swine. Most of John’s crew mutinied, the promise of higher wages too great for them to turn down, and a battle almost rips the ship apart.

Lucius, John, and Vinn barely make their escape by detaching the command bridge and crash landing on the mysterious planet. The ship itself was destroyed, but not before it collided with the Blue Sun’s mother-ship. Now weary, and on their last legs, the trio build a shelter and prepare themselves for what is likely to be an eventful night on X-13.
